Hi everyone!

First a big "thank you" for those of you who answered my post on finding gloves for my sister! I went to Target and found some fun, inexpensive gloves that were right up her alley.

Secondly, I searched through the tags, but my issue is a combo-one, so here it goes:

My hairdresser recently told me that using regular conditioner (i.e. the stuff you let sit in your hair and then rinse out) is flat-out awful for your hair. She highly recommended I find some leave-in conditioner and use that instead of conditioning while I shower, so these are my two questions:

1.) Is there any merit to what my hairdresser said? I'm tempted to believe her because her hair is fantastic, but I'm obviously not a hair expert...

2.) Are there any "natural" or at least cone/paraben/etc.-free leave-in conditioners out there that would work? My hair has been ridiculously dry and out-of-control (read frizzy/poofy) lately due to the cold, dry weather, so any leave-in conditioner that would help with that and not leave nasty residue in my hair?

The cheaper, the better, but if you swear by it, I'd love to hear about it! My hair needs some TLC!

Thanks in advance!

Long shot, but does anyone have any idea which shade of NARS blush is most similar to MAC Blushbaby? I love the color of Blushbaby but MAC blushes fade so quickly, so I want to replace mine (which I shattered this morning) with a NARS blush. Thanks!

I need a new conditioner. I have medium thickness, wavy long hair. It's naturally red, so not color treated or anything. Not especially dry, but I do get split ends. I straighten it a lot with a flat iron too. My hair gets "poofy" or big throughout the day, especially in humidity. Not curly or anything, just poofy (if that makes any sense at all). In cold weather, it gets static-y.

I used to use Sunsilk Anti-Poof, which I LOVED, but they don't make it anymore? At least I can't seem to find it anymore. I want something that I can easily buy at Target and that's not $25 a bottle or anything. I am currently using Garnier Sleek and Shine Sheer. The sheer seems to not untangle my hair very much and I have to use a TON of it. The regular Sleek and Shine makes my hair feel sticky and gunked up.

Oh and I currently use Lush solid shampoos. I am currently using Ultimate Shine. I am looking for a cheaper conditioner since I have pretty long hair and I go through it pretty quickly.

Any suggestions??

Ok I went through all the nail tags & I couldn't find anything on this topic, kind of sucks. So I can paint my nails & I'm pretty decent but my big thing is I go over the nail on to the sides, it's not a lot but it bothers me because I want my nails to look like (or close to) I just came out of a nail salon. Any suggestions on how to avoid doing this?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I'm Dahlia, 19 and new here, so hi everyone :-)

I am a complete fail at using make-up. Full stop.
I want to use eye-liner but don't know which colour, or how to apply it.
my eyes are dark brown and my skin is slightly pale.

Any tip on how to use eyeliner and generally eye-make up is highly appreciated.

Hey guys!

I just wanted to say that I love this community and how helpful everyone is. I learn a lot of new tricks and you're all so willing to teach and share advice.

I had a couple ideas I wanted to share with you. The first- a bunch of the communities I'm in do "Secret Santa" things. Because of finals, I haven't participated in them. Since a lot of us are in school or picking up a lot of hours with work, what do you all think of doing Secret Snowflakes? Set a date that things must be mailed by, a price you'll both agree to spend, and exchange gifts, then post about them?

I think it could be fun, and since we are a crafty, creative, and addicted-to-beauty group, I bet we could all give and receive some fun stuff!

Since it seems to be the same group of "regular" posters, I thought it might be neat to do a little thread where we introduce ourselves so we can learn a little more about our pals here.

I'm Mandie- I'm 23, I live in Philly with my cat (my BFF), I'm a Theatre/Education major, and I'm a makeup junkie. I've also dabbled in Theatrical, Fantasy, and gore makeup for film, theatre, and a few semi-celebs before events.

So- who are you? Do you like the Secret Snowflake idea?

How do you use it (if you're not used to hair products of any kind!) and what brand can you buy for an inexpensive price ($19 is NOT inexpensive for me... I was thinking... $4?)? I'd like to do THIS with my naturally wavy hair for a Christmas party Sunday.

Alt RP has a very simple premise. No high schools, no companies, no confusing places. The premise of this comm is an alternative universe, where everything (or almost) we see on TV or the books actually happens. In this universe, you can be a vampire, a demon, a super-hero, a mutant, a Time Lord, and even a human. Just beware, because this universe is nothing like the one you're used to, always safe and warm. Like the reflection on water, everything seems to be the same, but then you notice a certain glint on the other side, something that shouldn't be there. In this universe, vampires prey at night. Faeries hunt down humans without mercy and a demon can make you do things you'd never think of doing.

Alt RP allows characters such as vampires, werewolves, mages, demons, angels, half-bloods, mutants, gods, demigods, comic book characters, TV series characters and movie characters. We're also accepting celebrities, but these will be on a tight watch.
